Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Departure from Kolkata
Your journey begins from Kolkata, where you will board the Saraighat Express at 4:00 PM from the railway station. Enjoy your overnight train journey towards Guwahati.
Day 2 – Arrival at Guwahati & Local Sightseeing
After arriving at Guwahati, transfer to your hotel and check in. After lunch, visit Umananda Temple, located on an island in the Brahmaputra River, known for its peaceful and spiritual atmosphere.
Later, visit Balaji Temple, a popular religious site dedicated to Lord Vishnu. After sightseeing, return to the hotel for overnight stay in Guwahati.
Day 3 – Kamakhya Temple & Transfer to Kaziranga
Start early in the morning with a visit to the famous Kamakhya Temple, one of the most important spiritual sites in India. After breakfast, begin your journey towards Kaziranga National Park.
On the way, visit Vashistha Ashram (time permitting), known for its scenic surroundings and spiritual significance. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and stay overnight at Kaziranga.
Day 4 – Kaziranga National Park Safari
Early morning, enjoy an optional elephant safari (at extra cost) to explore the wildlife of Kaziranga National Park, famous for the one-horned rhinoceros.
Later, you can also enjoy an optional jeep safari to explore more areas of the park, where you may spot animals like deer, wild buffalo, birds, and other wildlife species. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 5 – Transfer to Shillong & Local Sightseeing
After breakfast, travel to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, known for its scenic beauty and pleasant weather. On the way, visit Umiam Lake (Barapani), a popular spot for boating and photography.
After reaching Shillong, visit Don Bosco Museum, Ward’s Lake, and Lady Hydari Park. Enjoy the local sightseeing before returning to the hotel for overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 6 – Cherrapunji Excursion & Living Root Bridge
After breakfast, begin your journey to Cherrapunji, known for its waterfalls and natural beauty. On the way, visit Cathedral of Mary Church, Shillong View Point, and Elephant Falls.
Continue to explore the famous Living Root Bridge at Nongriat and enjoy the scenic surroundings. Return to the hotel in Cherrapunji for overnight stay.
Day 7 – Cherrapunji Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit Mawsmai Cave, one of the most famous caves in the region. Then explore the stunning Nohkalikai Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in India.
Also visit Seven Sisters Falls, known for its scenic beauty. After sightseeing, return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 8 – Mawlynnong, Dawki & Return Journey
After breakfast, visit Mawlynnong Village, known as one of the cleanest villages in Asia. Then proceed to Dawki Lake, famous for its crystal-clear water near the India-Bangladesh border.
Also visit Tamabil Zero Point and the India-Bangladesh Friendship Gate. After sightseeing, begin your journey towards Guwahati Railway Station for your return train.
Day 9 – Arrival at Kolkata
Arrive back at Sealdah Railway Station with unforgettable memories of your Assam, Shillong, and Cherrapunji journey filled with nature, culture, wildlife, and scenic beauty.
